If you’ve never played Origins before, I would recommend playing at least one full game unmodded.

I went ahead and purchased a lifetime subscription because I use it a lot, but if you’re tight on money, you could do a one month sub for about three bucks and download everything you need within that time.

Most of these mods are exclusive to the Nexus Mods, which now does have a pretty substantial download cap for free users.

And for the handful of adjustments that require a little extra effort, there’s a lot of documentation available.

For the more complex modifications, there are tools to automate the clunkier processes.

In most cases, you’ll just have to drop a file into a specific folder. Dragon Age Origins was the second PC game for which I ever sought out mods (the original Sims was the first), and I feel like it’s a pretty easy game to install mods.
